All versions of ksp crashes (registy fix)

Recommended Posts

I'm used to play ksp with a lot of mod but a few days ago ksp had a strange "crash" whitch still with all my ksp vertion (I have backups of all my previous install) so I deleted the whole ksp folder on steam (using steam first then manually) and downloaded it again but the bug stay here

What I have is a tiny and flat window an error message on my screen (witch is at the end of the output log btw) but no crash report

Here is the output log

This looks like KSP is having trouble with the graphics:

D3D device reset failed [E_INVALIDARG]

(Filename: Line: 357)

Switching to resolution 154x0 failed, trying lower one

All resolution switches have failed

Screen: could not switch resolution (154x0 fs=0 hz=0)

"D3D device reset failed" is unusual, if you're alt+tabbing during load I'd use Windowed mode or alt+enter instead, maybe reinstall the graphics drivers if it continues.

"Switching to resolution 154x0 failed, trying lower one" this could mean your registry entry for KSP's screen size got corrupted, you can find it in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Squad/Kerbal Space Program

If you set both values to decimal and set width to 1024 and height to 768 it should work.
