Kerbal Addiction Is Like Orbital Mechanics...

So your orbit first meets Kerbin close in.... you are moving fast as you pass the orbit and slingshot round the mun and head off to Duna... You try all the wonderful things and then you seem to burn out on overplaying the game/sim...

Now you begin to move out-system, maybe moving away for good... but the further you get away, the slower you get. Then rumours of a new version filters through and you begin to arc back towards the planet...

Then you hear about all more wonderful things that have appeared... x64... upgradable buildings and numerous other new features and you speed up and get hooked all over again.

God... sometimes I hate Squad lol.... My name is NeoMorph and I am a Kerbal Addict (once again!!! :sticktongue: )

I feel the same way too! and then, just as you think you're totally spared and on your way, Kerbin's sphere of influence gets in your way. You'd want to continue executing the maneuver, but find it hard to get out of the influence. You decide it's a waste of Delta-V and decide to go back home. :sticktongue:

This is the very essence of my existence! Well said. lol!

So, 0.90 is so very close to a complete fully self-contained game, it's like playing a game. I've been pounding away at career mode for my channel and having an absolute blast - so very much looking forward to 1.0. ... Where I wipe my save and Do It All Over Again!

Heh, I've been starting from scratch ever since the very first Career Mode (now Science! Mode) was added to KSP.

I've been trying to ration myself this time, with a hope that I can stop myself from overdoing it. Previously I was developing my hardware meters but the mod that enabled them hasn't been updated to 0.90 yet (Telemachus is awesome) so I can concentrate on the game itself and not keep getting sidetracked while developing.

Anyone else feel that it's the Kerbals that turn what could have been a sterile sim into something fun and enjoyable? I find that crashing and yet saving the stranded survivors is what makes up 90% of my play lol.... REEEEEEEEEEESCCCCCCCCCCCUUUUUUEEEEE MISSSSSSSSHION. Squad should include a doctor class to help patch up injured Kerbs. :(

Yeah, the x64 client is available for download but apparently a bit more unstable than the x32 version. It gives me great hope for the future though.

No, I think what he means is have they resumed plans to keep updating it. This was still abandoned last I heard, but I could be wrong.

Welcome back Mr NeoMorph!

I have to agree about the Kerbals. To me, career mode is a grindy set of tasks to complete, but taking these little green guys on a journey of discovery is still good fun. Also, making them do crazy stuff.

...because the closer you are to it, the faster it makes you want to go?

...because the game is the one focus that controls all your motions?

...because p2 = a3 (the length of your playing period squared is proportional to the number of accidents cubed)?

...because it's not easy to change your inclinations without a lot of effort?

...because trying to solve the n-body problem of playing with too many other games at the same time is too difficult?

...because.....ah, that's enough torturing you guys.
