Brown dwarf star system

Do you think that having a habitable planet orbiting a brown dwarf is possible if it orbits really close to the star? So in that case most of the planets would probably be huddled up next to their star, And since the mass a brown dwarf is low the DeltaV required to get from one planet to the other would not be much.

Ladies and gentlemen i bring you an example of mine that is still WIP

Hope you guys like it, I am currently having trouble porting it to kopernicus (Mainly because 0.90 is so darn stupid that the ksc buildings glitch beyond all usable form!! :mad: I hate how if you are unable to get the latest version the best mods will always advance farther than you and you will be left behind unable to do anything! :mad: ) so if anybody can help please PM.

Just imagine a whole star system of planet packed really close together and the DeltaV requirements to get from one to the other are tiny.

But brown dwarves aren't stars. So it's not a star system...

Plus, the sun was probably a gas giant before it gathered the mass to be a brown dwarf and then a star, right?

Plus, BDs are magenta.

Brown dwarves arent actually magenta their brown, And i will make them brown with EVE and kopernicustech soon once i get 0.90 working

Whoah! what kind of telescope do you have? what a brown dwarf looks like is purely theoretical as they do not make enough light to easily see.

Scientists took a picture of one, just barely.

They do exist. They have been observed. And despite their name the light they give off (by wavelength analyzing) is magenta.

A brown dwarf would probably look like a really hot jupiter, And if you turn on your stove then you will notice it starts to turn red, The color of a star depends on heat, And since a brown dwarf is just barely hot enough to even glow, It probably glows a dark red.

Then why is it magenta? Because it's Deuterium fusing, not hydrogen. And there's not much of it. So, it most likely heats up the gas giant material it's comprised of, which is dependent on a lot of things.

But most pictures, like the ones from Spitzer Telescope, have magenta brown dwarfs.

Well, Since you seem to know more about this than me, I will agree, But i am still going to make mine dark red. :sticktongue:
