Any ideas, man. node Dv not decreasing...

Recommended Posts

I have a ship with very low TWR but it does thrust. When burning, the fuel drops and the orbit changes, but slowly.

However, any maneuver node though, doesn't bleed off DV. So I set one up burn in the right direction and the delta V for the man node doesn't go down...

Any ideas what's wrong or am I just too low on TWR (0.15)

First of all, questions like these usually belong to the Gameplay question and tutorials or to the Support forums if you think this might be a bug.

Second, unless you give us at least a picture of your vessel, all we can do is guess. My guess is that you are burning radially or in a anti/normal direction to the node. Are you sure the control element or the engine is pointing where you want it to?

Third, no, TWR doesn't have anything to do with this. You've already said that burning the engine changes the orbit, so thrust is produced, however small it might be (0.15 isn't such a bad TWR). Well, unless you set up a node with ridiculous amount of dV needed, then it would just take a long time to notice any difference.

Reasons I've run into this issue:

1. Something in the way of the engine, like a decoupler that failed to jettison or something.

2. There's another engine firing on the opposite end of the craft.

I recommend posting screenshots. Even if it doesn't help, we like screenshots. But we can probably help.

Thank you all for your help... I noticed I was in the wrong forum immediately, sorry, but I couldn't delete the thread and repost..

I feel really dumb, I had attached a small upgrade (a kerbal engineer flightbox, on a structural girder section with a docking port) to one of the docking ports on the side. For some reason this set the docking port as the 'control from here' element... so yes I was burning 90 degrees from where I wanted to... doh!

Thank you all for your help!
