Does a threads url change when it is moved

Just wondering what happens when a thread is moved; does it's url change and how does it effect those who are following it?

Reason I'm asking is I think I'd like to move my KerbalX.com thread out of "Add-on Releases" and into "Tools and Applications". It's not really an Add on (and it's prefixed with Plugin which gives the wrong idea I think), I think it would be happier living in tools and apps, what do you think?

I just wanted to check about the url because I'd need to update the links to it on the site if it changes, and I want to make sure that those who are following it don't loose track of it.
