Landed on the Mun...sort of...

Well, that was awkward.

On a whim, I totally designed my stock craft, and Lo and Behold, I made it all the way to a Munar orbit with a tank in the penultimate stage and another in my descent / return to kerbin stage. I carefully maneuvered into position, and at 50,000 ft, I jettisoned stage 2...

...along with my landing legs. Yeah. Forgot about those.

So I decided to try and land anyway.

If I\'d had legs, it would have worked. Since I didn\'t, this was the result.

Well, its a start!

i landed 2 times (with my spacecraft breaking) before a succesful landing.

so, this is quite good.

I landed once. My rocket (made of cheat parts even) got scattered over the terrain. There was about 1km separation between engine, tank and cockpit.

All of my first flights to the Mun ended up with me making new craters after landing at several hundred meters a second

The landing legs and small rocket booster really make a difference

Well, at least you have parts waiting for when the next mission comes.

Landing on the Mun reminds me quite well how much I sucked at Lunar Lander. That game drove me insane. And yet I couldn\'t resist trying one more time.
