No sound

I've been playing this game for over a year and a half now and have never encountered this problem before. I have absolutely no audio at all. Checked settings, nothing's been changed. Iv'e closed and restarted the game three times now to no avail. Closed windows (restarted) and open KSP once again, still no sound. Iv'e got sound in all other games and programs but not KSP. Anyone got any ideas as to how I can fix this? Thanks for any response and or help.

Have you installed any mods lately? Problems often stem from there.

No Sir, no mods. I'm totally bewildered, Everything else works fine, graphics and whatever, just no sound.
