NeatCrown
I was just in a drafting class and the teacher spent nearly half an hour explaining isometric and orthographic views to the students. Why not give a quick 5 minute explanation? The majority of the time, he was just explaining the X, Y and Z axis and only began calling them X, Y, and Z after that half an hour. UnionPacific1983WP
By "All trains do is go forwards and backwards", I believe the person who said it completely ignored the fact that they don't stay on the same track at all times. There's the facepalm. Everything mentioned in this video.
ghostbuzzer7
This happened to me today.... while I was programming. "Huh why cant I fricken' get these local variables to be printed inside the console from the main class?".... "I have everything the variables are set up but for some reason, the method doesn't call it. Could it be that I need to import the code into a separate class and import it as an object into the code".... I keep rambling off to find my answer was the first thing I said... It was a local variable not a public variable. And that has been my facepalm I made today

Kuansenhama
My friend tried to convince me that in chess, you can jump a pawn over one of your own pieces if it is the first move of that pawn and you move it forward two squares. I know there's different versions of chess with different rules, but this certainly isn't how I remember it in my fifth grade chess class... (Metric users, 93.3 degrees). I was stunned and asked him why. He said he had a "makeshift" cooling system. After further inquiry, his response:like i have a fan that is only hangin on due to its using friction and using the fins of the heatsink as a spring[sic]

The only change in rules was if someone played a draw two card, the person it was aimed against could play their draw two card and then if the next person couldn't play a draw two card, they'd have to draw the total number of cards (4). It's fun if you've gone around the table a couple of times and the poor schmuck ends up drawing 16 cards...!

NuclearNut
Painfully relevant xkcd:http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/stephen_hawking.pngIF I ever run a nuclear power company I can already see the bylines."CEO of major utility suggests that nuclear waste be dumped 'on the heads of those damn protesters because they complain anytime I suggest that it be stored somewhere safe, so maybe they will quit complaining when I propose it be stored somewhere unsafe'"Anyway, at school, in a conversation regarding nuclear energy, one person in our "group" stated that nuclear energy was dangerous because we do not understand how it works and that a reactor could explode just like a nuclear bomb. I felt like banging my head on the table at that point.
