Man, Tayler Raiz will have fun trying to land his OV-X and other re-usable launchers now... Looking forward to those dozens of explosions trying to create a new reliable one.

It will make it easier to test rovers tho, no need to drive for 5-15min to reach rough terrain.

Really looking forward to this update. It's almost perfect.

Let's assume the fairings are fixed, and most of the mem leaks too.

In which case it's only missing Unity5 and electric propellers and any other development would be superfluous for me.

(well, ok, and the rest of our solar system analogs as planets... but even that is not that important as there is a good mod for it atm)

I will just make a large landing platform or barge.

On a second look, I suspect you're right. Not to say that the devs won't tweak the terrain at some point, but that shading effect can be generated in beta without any hills.

I wish we didn't have to keep guessing about things from twitter links though, would be nice if all the official news/screenshots were updated regularly here by someone from Squad.

Are you guys saying that the terrain near the runway will be bumpy only because you saw some shadows on that screenshot? I may be mistaken, but if that's what you are believing, these images would say otherwise:

Look at the shadows near the runway. It looks like there are some hills near the runway, but there aren't.

Yeah, exactly. It's just an optical illusion. I flew a plane out to check - it looks bumpy in 0.90.

(brightness enhanced a bit as it was taken rather early in the morning)
