Why the across the board LFO engine ISP nerfs?

You know what, I'm looking at the config files, and I think they changed how it works. "Max Thrust" is no longer actually max thrust, aka vacuum thrust. They must be applying an ISP curve multiplier. Ugh. This is going to make fixing the mods real fun.

Ew gross. Yeah, I would have gone with max thrust in the config as being the vacuum Isp and recalculated sea-level from that. (I have yet to look at part config files, I'm just going by in-game information for now) :/

I just compared, and it looks like "MaxThrust" in the config is actually the ASL thrust now, rather than the Vac thrust. Ugh.

That is bizarre, and .. well.. bizarre sums it up perfectly. Oh well, maybe that was a lot easier on the code side of things at Squad (I'm a bit terrified to know, btw).

I did notice one other nice thing though that somehow slipped my attention: The Terrier went from 50kn to 60kn stealthily, so it got a little bit of a TWR buff too.

Reading thread happily...nods...nods...smiles...yup, I can relate...

"What?! For the love of the gods, nooooooo!"

Man, I really hope the above is just some kind of misinterpretation of how the .cfg files are working, as that's a whole world of "ugh" otherwise.

Errrr...a thrust corrector is like a couple of lines of code, and I can not fathom how doing that with thrust would make it any easier. I'm going to leave looking into this until tomorrow as I think I'm too tired to handle the abuse to my face if this turns out to be correct :)

@LostOblivion

Surface TWR is the Thrust-to-Weight-Ratio on Sealevel (aka Launchpad) - if it's less then 1, then you won't lift off.

@Topic

I like the 10kn more thrust for the 909, really. The Poodle could have used a little less weight, maybe 1,5t or 1,25 - than it would have been a reasonable choice to use it as a lander engine.
