Because of the new 1.0 aerodynamics, I can't go to space.

Too unaerodynamic, and you have to start your gravity turn at under 1km stick close to the prograde marker...
or they still think they can follow the old "10Km up then pitch 45 degrees" ascent profile without issues.

If that is the issue here (and apparently it is, according to this reddit thread): My usual manual launch profile involved tilting from vertical to horizontal, 22.5 degrees at a time, whenever the apoapsis (not the altitude) was about to reach 15 km, 30 km, 45 km, and 60 km (Kerbal Engineer conveniently displayed that without needing the map view). I might have to divide it into smaller increments this time.

edit: oh yeah, and real life rockets don't do that either.

How much tilting is too much?

You never want to be over 5 degrees away from prograde, that's the biggest issue. If you're managing those checkpoints without having to push outside the five degree limit, I think you should be fine on the piloting side of things.

Ok, my belief is that because of the new physics and aerodynamics, we are so used to using the tricks we used in the early access versions which makes thing difficult.

Okay, I have an idea... Probably try lowering throttle? My guess. I can't play KSP for 2 weeks...

if i managed to get this absurdity into orbit (and to jool), then i cant see how people are having troubles, its all in the ascent profile!

This is what, one rapier, one single FLT-400 tank, some weapons hardpoints (cant quite launch with the weapons as too draggy), and a dock port.

Ofc i clipped 12 ions inside, but hey, i want it to have a certain look, and this works well.

I think several people are zeroing in on it. If you go too fast down low, you're going to get a lot of drag on the nose. Especially if you hang out in the 270ish to 410ish m/s range (transonic). You'll need to start turning a bit sooner, maybe around 100m/s. But not too much or you'll have a hard time keeping the rocket from wanting to continue tipping.

Cheers,

Just tried the stock Kerbal X in sandbox, it handles very nicely, following the advice above. Got to orbit with fuel left in the main stage, landed on the Mun on first attempt, with only 150 LF left in the lander. IDK yet, if that will be enough to get back to Kerbin...

Edit: Nope... I wasn't efficient enough with the intercept/orbit/landing. Taking a revert.
