Old parts not getting replaced when updating to 1.0

Looking at my parts list, and I notice that the old model for the standard one-wheel airplane landing gear isn't being replaced by the new one from this image:

What I'm seeing in the VAB:

I'm also noticing that some other parts aren't being replaced or deleted even though some new parts appear to be their direct replacements, such as the old AV-R8 Winglet performing an apparently identical role as both the "standard canard" and "tail fin."

I've tried deleting and re-acquiring the Squad folder within GameData but these old parts just aren't going poof. Haven't tried a full reinstall, however - should I?

The new small bay wasn't finished, the old small bay is staying in for the time being, so this is "normal"
