Are Aldrin Cyclers possible in KSP?

Recommended Posts

It might be possible (I couldn\'t say for sure) but the orbital path will not fully render in the current version. It\'s been said that more complex orbits can be displayed in the upcoming .15 version, so let\'s wait and see what it can do.

Well I would think it might looks something like being shot into the mun\'s SOI, swung around on a green escape trajectory, going back into an elliptical blue trajectory around Kerbin, flying out towards the Mun again and so on. I could envision how it would look, I just don\'t know if anyone has done the math here on how to actually get one going. I\'m guessing it\'s possible.

A backflip orbit has been discussed in this thread, also check the links from there. I think such an orbit might be possible if it weren\'t for the inaccuracies in KSP\'s physics model, and of course the lack of high-fidelity mission planning and flight computers, which may or may not be solved in upcoming versions or mods.
