Rescue Kerbal flings herself into space and jet pack won't work

As the title says, I rendezvoused with the Kerbal I need to rescue, and she just decides to fling herself out into deep space. I activate her jet pack and it won't respond. I've tried to turn on the cheats for infinite EVA fuel to see if it would do anything, but it did not.

The jet pack for Jeb works perfectly.

Having this problem myself. No idea whats causing it.

Just to notify, other people with this issue had KIS installed and uninstalling it resolved the issue. Also, KIS has been updated to 1.0, resolving the issue as well.
