Resource Scanner Bug

Having problems when I go to map view or to space center, and switch back to a sat with a orbital resource scanner. The game bugs out and it just has the scanner in orbit and the rest of the sat is gone. Keeps happening when reloading save, restarting KSP, etc.

When you initially built your satellite with the scanner, was the scanner the very first part you placed in the VAB building area? There's a bug where if the scanner is the first (root) part of the vessel, the game is likely to crash.

What happens if you build a vessel where the scanner is not the first part you put on the vessel?

I definitely have it as the root part. I'll try it tomorrow not being the root part, thank you. Will switch this to solved once I confirm tomorrow
