Launch First Vessel Contract Problem v1.0

Hey folks

So, I've started the career mode and have done a lot of contracts so far, all of them using vessels, both unmanned and manned, but for some reason i still have not completed the "Launch First Vessel" Contract. I searched on forum but could not find any post related.

Is it possible that I am missing some weird detail on the contract? Or is it some sort of bug?

Ps: If there is already a post about it, feel free to give me a warning.

No, Ziggy is right. There is something going on with the "Launch First Vessel" contract, as I've launched tons of missions and this contract fails to complete.

That said, I'm using the Mission Controller 2 mod, so it's entirely possible the error is with that mod. Ziggy, are you using this mod as well?

If not, we know the problem is not in fact related to that mod and there is something else going on.

I've not seen this in stock yet, though I'm not sure if I've tried to trigger this yet in 1.0.2.

Please do try to narrow down if it's due to the mod or not, so we can make sure the bug report gets to the right place.

I'm playing completely unmodded, freshly installed on Steam, and have this issue. The debug console does not show anything strange. Please tell me if I can help narrow it down further.

This usually indicates that a problem occurred in the contract system, but I can't remember how to troubleshoot it.

Does anyone remember how to troubleshoot problems in the contract system when "Launch First Vessel" contract keeps reappearing in the offered list?

You may be better off asking in Support WuphonsReach, and uploading your outout_log.txt and persistent.sfs files to a file host and providing the links.

All you need to do to complete that contract is to launch a crewed pod with a flea booster from the surface of Kerbain, though a parachute would be appreciated by the occupant.

So if it's not completing or reappearing there's something causing it, such as a mod or a broken save.

This is it. I used to think you had to use that first, tiny solid motor, but nope. I just tried it with a liquid rocket, and it works as long as you don't use launch clamps/towers, etc. Just the rocket sitting on the ground when you launch.

 

And yes, this is an old question, but it's still a problem in 1.1.3.
