Now this is podracing V1.0.2

Recommended Posts

With all the talk of how "realistic" the new aerodynamics are i thought what better time than now to release my 1.0.2 podracer?

Presenting

Now this is podracing mk3

rGnWiMp.jpg

Description:

This podracer is very maneuverable, that being said it is not the easiest thing to fly,

With an early lift off and unique flight characteristics you should be kept on your toes the entire flight until you manage to run it into a building :sticktongue:

Flight instructions:

It is said that it takes Jedi like reflexes to control a pod.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to eddiew again."

love it lol, you will probably like what im working on atm, think no wings and SSTO

Heh, well I appreciate the thought :) And for SSTOs, far as I'm concerned, the point of stock aero is to make them as odd as possible, and wingless, strangely shaped creations are decidedly in vogue ;) That said, Scuttler C has quite a lot of wings...

Dangerous yes, fast? not as fast as id hope it only goes 300m/s, would think ited do mach1 at ground level with its twr lol, clipping does magical things in 1.0.2

Clipping doesnt do ANYTHING!

If you look at how occlusion works, it only cares about stuff within a stack of parts. I suspect the main culprit here are those decopler stacks, massive part counts tend to increase drag even if they are occluded according to the system. The ONLY way to get low drag is to shove all your utility parts into a service/cargo bay. Seeing as this is stock you dont have much choice, but you woudl be far better off replacing those stacks of decouplers with say Ibeams or somthing, although i do know it wont have that cool flexibility.

The chassis/driver's sitting area on this is incredibly strong. Took a hit at 200+mps and didn't break. The rest of the craft wasn't so lucky. It got disintegrated. 5-star rating on shatteringly-powerful crashes, though! :D

Clipping is literally the only reason it flies lol, it has clipped elevons inside the hull, 1.0.2 allows it again
