I'm sure this has been discovered, but... Related to my other thread about new orbiting techniques...

I launched a little Stayputnik with solar panels and some batteries just to practice getting into orbit.

I thought I was there, but realized I messed up and ran out of fuel. Seeing that my path took me back to the surface, I figured, hey, I'll watch it burn up.

However, with panels extended from space, the craft slowed enough so that it never heated up.
