WWII - The Pigeon Guided Anti Ship Bomb - Project Orcon

Bird brains blowing up the Yamato and Bismark would have been priceless. The US Air Force should have funded this for their Cold War era nuclear Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, just to .... off the Soviet Union. :D :D

Ok if this comment is inappropriate please tell me and I will remove it.

After reading the about the "gay bomb"….would they have given out purple hearts to people who turned gay because they were in its blast radius?

The effects would have been temporary, so I doubt it.

Maybe they can make long lasting pheromones, like unsynthesized anthrax. That'll do it. :D

Gosh... forcing an entire population to permanently turn homosexual? That's practically genocide if nobody reproduces.

Not if the the whole population is also heterosexual. :P

Traditional marriages would, however, disintegrate.

Look at birds. They're quite... liberal... in terms of orientation.

Was this on the history channel? I think I saw a glimpse of their icon somewhere.

Also, on the topic of silly bomb...here is a funny satire article:

The world has been placed on a heightened security alert following reports that New Age terrorists have harnessed the power of homeopathy for evil. ‘Homeopathic weapons represent a major threat to world peace,’ said President Barack Obama, ‘they might not cause any actual damage but the placebo effect could be quite devastating.’

...

Homeopathic bombs are comprised of 99.9% water but contain the merest trace element of explosive. The solution is then repeatedly diluted so as to leave only the memory of the explosive in the water molecules. According to the laws of homeopathy, the more that the water is diluted, the more powerful the bomb becomes.

‘It was only a matter of time before these people got hold of the material that they needed to make these bombs,’ said former UN weapons inspector, Hans Blix, ‘The world is a much more dangerous place with the advent of these Weapons of Mass Dilution.’

‘A homeopathic attack could bring entire cities to a standstill,’ said BBC Security Correspondent, Frank Gardner, ‘Large numbers of people could easily become convinced that they have been killed and hospitals would be unable to cope with the massive influx of the ‘walking suggestible’.’

...

‘Homeopathic weapons are the ultimate Smart Bombs,’ warned President Obama, ‘They are so smart that they only affect the gullible. The only defence is for everyone to remain calm, vigilant and to always wear a magic vibrating crystal.’

Nope. The bomb wasn't supposed to make people gay, it was supposed to cover them in pheromones that made them attractive to heterosexual males, in the hope that friendly troops could then capture them in the confusion. (If this isn't disturbing enough, remember that the pheromones would be dispersed over an area, so everything would be hit by pheromone, including any animals in the area. This bomb really was a terrible, terrible idea.)

In reality, pheromones can't do that.

To add to this, there's still considerable debate over whether any functional human pheromones even exist. The whole endeavour was roughly as scientific as the 'men who stare at goats' study.

If pheromones works fear would be an far more useful effect. It only have to last an short time and if some of the forces run away they tend to be followed by others.

As i understand LCD was developed as an weapon, they was looking for an non lethal way of disrupting enemies while not require large volumes of gas.
