Fly near the Sun contract

I was offered a contract to go near the Sun. That's all it says: fly near the Sun... So, any idea how close should I be to fulfill it? Also, will I need some sort of heat protection at that unspecified distance?

Even if you do need to get down there (which apparently I was wrong about) you don't want a big dv ship, aim for eve or duna, use the gravity to change your direction.

Yeah, but I wasn't sure. In 0.90 if you entered the SOI of a body to which you didn't get contracts yet, then you would never get them. Or at least that's how I understood it back in the day, not sure if 1.0 solved that.
