First person to land on the Minmus, and get Back! [Video]

I landed at around 4:30PST today. That was about five hours ago.

The gravity, according to Kosmo-naut, is 37% of the Mun at the surface.

I was also able to return, shooting back into orbit and then returning to the planet. Now with Minmus out of my way (I landed first try) I\'m going to learn how to fly jets. Here is a picture to prove I landed.

Here\'s a fantastic view of the wavy surface as you come down.

It barely takes any engine power at all!

Vincent, you need to do te first minmus orbit rendevous ...

Yeah. Like the first Munar Orbit Rendezvous I did. I still think I may have been the first to do it. I was actually just thinking about Mimus orbit rendezvous, but it takes too long and it\'s not worth it. I just landed the first probe on Minmus, though. I\'m still waiting for Dalfite to update the leaderboard.

Goodness man - that\'s not the words of fighters and winners!!! Get your kit together and show the forum who the rendezvous expert is!

Jump to it winner!!

LOL. I\'m sure someone will beat me to it. I feel like Buzz Aldrin now, though... Why am I being called a rendezvous expert?

Alright. I\'ll work on it. I\'ll ask Kosmo if he can write up the distance to intercept for me. If not, I may have to calculate it by myself.

EDIT--

Placing my target vehicle into a 100KM orbit around Minmus. I\'ll send the docking craft up once I align my plane to 0 degrees at 100KM circularized. Glad I brought RCS. I should complete the rendezvous tomorrow as I\'ll be going to bed in less than an hour.

Hopefully nobody beats me to it, but I don\'t think they will. Most people don\'t have the patience for rendezvous.

Hm. Found a problem already.

Orbiting Minmus at 100KM is enough to escape it\'s SOI and get on a Kerbin escape trajectory.

Which means rendezvous has to be a LOT lower, and thus, not as much time warp potential. I\'m guessing it could take a really long time to do rendezvous around Minmus because of these limitations, I will still try it, but because of the difficulties involved, it is not my number one priority. And I think Kosmo-Not deserves it. He was the one whose calculations made it possible for me to make the first Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. I did it so early in 14.0 that if anyone did it before me, they never posted about it. And because of the accomplishment, I highly doubt anybody would not claim that achievement if they made it first.

Take a look at my LOR post and judge for yourself based on previous posts if I was the first to do it. I honestly don\'t know.

Regardless, I may sit this 'first' out and give it to someone else simply because of how long it will take to rendezvous at a lower orbit.

Maybe not. I will try it tomorrow at 30KM, but I don\'t want to have to sit and wait for three hours just for one rendezvous.
