No pumping fuel from tank to tank via alt+r-click?

Recommended Posts

Been tring to fight rocket-flipping with shifting center of mass with pumping fuel from top to bottom tanks, but it looks like this option is no longer available. Was it turned off or am i missing something?

Also make sure that there are no 'No CrossFeed Connection' parts between the tanks. If there are you'll need two fuel lines connecting the tanks. Two because a fuel line is a one way connection, so if you want to be able to transfer to and from, you'll need fuel lines in opposite directions.

No.

For transferring, Crossfeed is irellevant,

Not sure if 1.0 changed it but previously running fuel lines both ways could cause a lot of problems, best avoided.

To the best of my knowledge, this has not changed (and is still solid advise).

I think rocket flipping might have more to do with high deviations from prograde during ascent. Rockets have a lot of drag at certain angles, and can really cut into the air if you push it too far. Try for a gentler ascent, and see if that helps. Severedsolo worked out a pretty good ascent profile, which should get you through the first 10/15 kilometers of atmosphere. After that, the ascent's pretty much the same as .90.

Good luck, dude!

Two things: In career mode, fuel transfer isn't available until you upgrade your R&D building.

Second, if you want to keep your rocket from flipping, you want to move the fuel up, not down. You want a high center of mass, not a low one. This post does a good job of explaining why.

Yeah, I got to this myself too. Yesterday it occurred me that my flipping is very CoM dependant. Done some reading this morning and it looks like I was doing exactly the opposite of what would fix the problem.
