By writing eloquent, well-reasoned posts or creating and sharing your own content, other forum users may choose to award you with reputation points.

When you earn a certain amount of reputation points, your reputation level increases by one green or light green pip. Here's a breakdown of how many reputation points earns you each reputation level:

Reputation levels

Reputations come in many levels. The more reputation points you obtain the more you will 'rise' in level. The reputation levels you can obtain and the minimum reputation points for each are:

  • Username has just applied to the Kerbal Space Program (0 reputation points)
  • Username mops and brings people coffee (10 reputation points)
  • Username owns a roll of duct tape (20 reputation points)
  • Username was hired as part of the ground crew (50 reputation points)
  • Username is a trainee engineer (75 reputation points)
  • Username is a well respected engineer (100 reputation points)
  • Username is allowed to draw blueprints (150 reputation points)
  • Username has assisted many engineers in trouble (250 reputation points)
  • Username is a master kerbal engineer (500 reputation points)
  • Username is the reason many Kerbal space programs are successful (750 reputation points)
  • Username has a reputation that rivals Jebediah's (1000 reputation points)
  • Username is sucking up reputation like a black hole (2000 reputation points)

Or writing snarky comments, posting strange things and modding. Take a look at the light green group thread and look at the posts of the people at the top.

Or by participating in the Green Iron Crown rep-fest... :P

The mods started this joke with a user that had negative reputation and people started giving it to him in an attempt to bring him to zero. They also gave rep to random users in the thread, including me. And that's the story of how I probably got 90% of my rep

This one got changed, it's now "Username has a reputation that cannot be measured."

What are levels for? How do I get leveled up? Do I need to level up? Thanks for the answers in advance.

There are literally zero practical benefits from having green pips under your name, it's just a bit of forum fun with internet points. Don't take it seriously, and definitely don't worry about not having them. Some of the people on the forum I respect most have very few reputation points.

Thank you Iron, very helpful.
