Is this a bug or intended?

After I installed 1.0, my kerbals all changed specializations, except for the original 3. Is this a bug or is it intended due to adding female kerbal names? I'm starting to think it's intended

I don't think this was intended. I've seen a couple reports about this but haven't looked into it myself. I can't imagine they did it on purpose, but possibly it's an outcome from adding more kerbals...?

This may be an artefact of the new name generator, as Kerbal professions are defined by their name string.
