Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

On a few year old laptop (525m and i5 2430m) I'm having problems with my screen going black and a message saying 'Display driver stopped responding and has recovered' after 15ish minutes of playing. I've been having this problem for a few months and had no problems running the game (although on lower setting) when the game was earlier in development. Thanks to anyone who can help me out with this.
