Medium landing gear

The game currently has 3 sizes of (retractable) landing gear: Small, large and gigantic (a.k.a. small, medium and large in the game).

It would be really nice to have medium sized landing gear that actually is medium sized.

The current medium landing gear is way too large for most medium sized planes.

no its not your just using small parts for the medium landing gear also the medium helps with larger plains too there could be a landing gear for the really tiny parts though.

I just made a 35 ton four-engine space plane and went for the medium gear. It looked ridiculous. Way too big. Ended up using the small instead. So I agree there's a slight gap at the moment.

The current medium and large gear is fine, for wing mounted main gear. It gives the necessary height to avoid tail strikes, particularly for classic delta wing designs which require pulling up fairly hard on takeoff with the wheels set a fair distance behind CoM.

What's needed is shorter matching versions of both, so that you can have wing mounted main/rear gear, and body mounted nose gear while still keeping the plane more or less level. For completeness, there should probably also be a tall version of the older small gear.

Yup, very much so. And, while they're at it, fix the wheel animations, raise the default brake torque, and enable steering on all gear.

The current medium's shouldn't be resized, the still have a purpose with the large (massive) wheels. And I've managed to use them quite well on small planes to grant them a larger AoA when landing. However some wheels to bridge the gap would be nice as a separate part. Maybe something with a single, relatively large wheel like the front wheels on P-40's and Spitfires.

No, it should not be longer. What's needed is a second part in the same style, but suitable for mounting on a wing attached to the middle of a mark 1 tank. I.e. existing small gear for mounting to the bottom of the body, longer variant for mounting to wings, and the combination of the 2 used together resulting in a plane that is horizontal.
