Measure temperature above question

Hello! Been loving the game so far. I just have a rather simple question: how can I go about measuring temperature above a certain point? I cant seem to get over 10k metres with a plane, is using a rocket and orbiting around that point till I get exactly above it the only option?

It's an option yeah, or fit a rocket to your jet and power your way up from below

I actually just thought about that! But I'm not quite sure how to go about it. Do you mean creating a rocket launching from the jet, or giving the jet more rocket-like power?

I'd give the plane some rocket power, with a central liquid fuel and oxidiser tank and a LV-T30 or 45, and a pair of side tanks with liquid fuel only and basic jets, with the wings on those side tanks

Also don't forget the thermometers!

Or progress more and get turbojet engine. The altitude numbers from contracts aren't really changing from 0.90, while aero changed a lot...
