Hi everyone , This is my first real challenge so be fair and tell me what can be improving . This is still in "Beta Test"

Lore : Intruder come & capture Bill & Bob at 00H00 . Jeb discover that the next morning , Valentina is still with him but you are a hard task to came Bob & Bill back safe !

Enemy base has been located , they've make a break on "Grass Island" !

The Score :

-The score is based on your funds management , the time , the among of weapon/ammo , the science management , the number of target down & the number of debris generated ! so !

-You need to know :

FF : Funds after recover vessel

Wx : Number of weapon on your craft ( -200 Points per weapon )

Ax : Number of ammo box on your craft ( -50 Points per ammo )

Tx : Number of TakeOff ( -50 Points per Takeoff ) No penalty for 1 Takeoff (n-1)

Px : Number of pilot rescued ( +250 Points per pilot )

TDx : Number of target down ( 12 at start ) ( +50 Points per target )

Dx : Number of debris generated ( 0 at start ) ( +1 Points per debris )

Ts : Time at start ( 4H41 -> 16970 Sec ) [ Use "reset mission" Quick-load to retry ]

Tksc : Time after recover vessel ( Sec ) + ( time after landing ( F3 key ) only Sec )

Fu : Among of fuel in your craft at start

Sf : Among of science after recover vessel

So , your Score is : Score=(FF/100)-[(Tx-1)+(Wx+Ax)+((Tksc-Ts)/10)+Fu]+(Px+TDx+Dx+Sf)

i.e : I spend funds & time to build a vessel , i put 2 weapons & 1 ammo box on it . And .....

... start with 150 l of fuel & 22 l of Mono .

Takeoff , fight some target , rescue the two dude & back to KSC

After recover i got :

FF : 36351

Ax : 1

Tx : 1

Px : 2

TDx : 0

Dx : 18

Ts : 16850

Tksc : 18203

Fu : 172

Sf : 160

Score=(FF/100)-[((Tx-1)50)+(Wx200+Ax50)+((Tksc-Ts)/10)+Fu]+(Px+TDx+Dx+Sf)

Score=(36351/100)-[((1-1)50)+(400+50)+((18203-16850)/10)+172]+(500+0+18+160)

Score=284.21

Temps Rules v0.6 :

KSC Rules :

* Quick-save allowed !

- All the LvL 1 R&D is unlocked + LvL 2 [ BD-Armory ] sub-tab

- Use Menu Quick-load "Reset mission" ..... for reset mission :P

Mods Rules :

*BD-Armory [ NEEDED ] Tested with v0.8.1 & v0.8.2

- Monitoring Tools , i.e : Engineer

- Kerpaint ( optional )

- No auto-pilot

- Suggest for more mods ( I design this challenge for BD-Armory only )

Craft Rules :

* Your craft MUST be manned ( Plane , Vtol , Copter ...) ( SPH Only )

- Your craft Must stay under 18 Tons

- You can have three seat on the plane ( External Command Seat Banned )

- Unlimited Craft building ( Funds impact )

- Science is allowed ( Sci & funds impact )

Pilot Rules :

* You have two pilot , so you have "two life"

* A pilot who run out of ammo/fuel is allowed to back to KSC & re-takeoff ( funds & malus impact )

- You can land/jump/crash as long as your pilot stay alive

- You Must "touchdown" on the KSC light green area

- A pilot CANNOT takeoff more than twice in a row

- A pilot land in sea can be rescue by the other pilot ( if alive )

- The rescued pilot is not allowed to takeoff right now

Weapon Rules :

* You need weapon !!!

-Each weapon -200 Points

Ammo Rules :

*You need ammo !!!

- Each ammo box -50 Points

Fuel Rules :

*You need fuel !!!

- Each liter -1 Points

-Concerned Fuel/Ox/Mono

Score Rules :

* Score based on #Weapon/#Takeoff/#Pilot left/#Pilot rescue/#Target down/Funds left/Time

-You MUST rescue one kerbal ( Two is better ;) )

So let me get this straight.

The mission is, if we choose to accept it, to fly to this island rescue Bob and Bill from the house and get out without getting destroyed?

And what is the total parts count in the area and how bad is the lag, those are going to be two concerns for people. And have you tested it out yourself to see how bad the lag is?

Hi Hodo .

-For now , the goal is to rescue Bill & Bob & back safe to KSC ( I add bonus points for each target destroy )

-I manege to place tower far enough to prevent too many lag , For me between 45 to 120 FPS ! I must move one spot !

-There is actually 676 Parts but there is 22 KM from far target , the two first spot are too close .

-I test with my craft that have 54 Parts .

-Last thing , i move all to a career mode for some restriction .

Need to know PPL FPS if parts count is too high , can raise down but tower will be less beautiful .

Ah & do you prefer .Zip file or no compress file ?

As a general tip, i do not reccomend more then 800 parts total in any one spot in space, and no more then 600 on the ground. Personally i can handle 1200ish in space, and 800ish on the ground without too much pain, but in general you want to keep the parts lower then what you can handle to account for potato comps.

What ive learned is outside of cinematics, stick to the bare minimum part count required to get the job done. I see you have antennas on many turrets, they lok cool, but think about whether anyone will even be able to see those when they are being shot at (or shooting target). In my eyes these sorts of things add excessive part count and do nothing to benefit the gameplay unless you are trying to make some epic videos/screenshots, in which case you dont care about lag as much as appearance.

Not saying you made bad craft (they look nice with the additional gear), but stuff like turrets would be better off with the absolute bare minimum part count, foregoing anything that isnt needed to make them actually work.

I read your tips & I've make a lot of tweak :

- Parts count raise down to 153 Parts ( Far better for all )

- Moved to a career mode for some restriction !

- My craft no longer in the save file ( You must build our own ;) )

I edited the first post with some new rules & a score example .

Looks great, may try this when I get some time. Outstanding first challenge!

Now to work on my designs, seeing as I use NuFAR I am in a transition phase and redesigning most of my military aircraft.

So I messed around in another one of your missions you had for download to test out my F-119 Akula, the stock SSTO Mig-21 knock off that I made a while ago and still is one of my best and favorite SSTO fighters.

I succeeded in destroying all of the targets with the F-119s limited weapons load but it was fun to fly that aircraft again in a combat capacity.
