Revert Heat to 0.90 Settings

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I've been playing KSP with Re-Entry Heat turned down to 0%, and noticed that engines and such still heat up considerably on ascent.

My question is: how can I disable heat entirely, or revert it to 0.90-like values? I don't enjoy heat management, and would rather not deal with it at all. I liked the way it was handled in 0.90, however unrealistic it may have been.

Not looking to discuss why I want it this way (it's a video game: everyone enjoys it differently), but rather for solutions.

Any ideas? :)

Edit: Changed title to better reflect question

As far as I know engine heating has been in the game for a long time. I don't think you can disable it without changing the .cfg files.

True, but not the way it's implemented now...

Better question: what would I need to edit to revert it to more 0.90-like settings? I'm not a fan of the almost-invisible bars that appear over the parts, or how they in no way match the heat gauges next to the fuel gauges.

I don't mind editing cfgs, btw

The slider you've set to 0 disables only re-entry heating. For disabling engine heat you can either edit their .cfg files (or use a module manager config) or.. ignore it with the option available in debug toolbar. Its the "ignore max temperature" one iirc. To disable the newly implemented heat warnings, check the mods section. There are at least 2 mods that do that.

Ah, perfect. I'll take a look for those mods, thanks.

Changing prefix to 'Answered'

Alt-F12 -> Physics -> Thermal -> set internal generation to 0.

Even better! Thanks :D
