Modding the solar power curve

Recommended Posts

How would one go about this? I'm a) fixing to install a planets mod, and B) I enjoy powering energy-hungry Near Future engines with the available giant blanket solar arrays. The current stock power curve does not play well with either of these. Is there a way I can either hard-edit files or do a modulemanager patch to adjust this to more preferable values?

You would use ModuleManager to add a power curve node, I reckon. Look at pre-1.0 versions of KSP, the solar panels all had this node in their configs. I don't know for sure if putting it in will override the behavior under 1.0, but you can at least try it!

Copying the curve from an older version gives you the old stock curve, but you can also create your own. It's pretty annoying to do it with just numbers, though - you really want to install Unity for this, and grab r4m0n's FloatCurveEditor package.
