Confused and just starting.

I am kind of lost on how to do the work for making the folder structure for the gamedata folder

fr4zvKr.png

This is how it looks in game.

eS5n6gd.png

This is how it is supposed to look.

The way I have the folders setup goes.

Vaperiser

-mesh

-textures

Vaperiser.cfg

WIPVaperiserEngine.dae

I have nothing in the two mesh and textures folders. Also I am using the basic jet engine cfg as a place holder currently, after I have it in game and place-able I plan to make my own cfg.

The folder should have 3 things:

mypart.mu <- model exported from unity

mypart.png or mypart.mbm or mypart.dds <- texture (you can export png or mbm format from unity as well, for dds you need converter)

mypart.cfg <- config

in config file you can specify path to specific folder where KSP should look for texture and model files, otherwise it will look for it in the same folder.

if you have model in .dae format you need first import it to unity and then export it in .mu format

Do you have Unity installed (along with part tools)?

I have unity installed not quite sure about the parts tool though.

Here is the tutorial I was using to get a basic understanding of what to do if it helps.

http://www.alternatewars.com/Games/KSP/Tut1/KSP_Tutorial_1-3.htm

Also I am wondering if the collider and part models have to be two separate files.

The help is appreciated.

Okay I will take a gander at that video, but for the part tools I keep getting redirected to the KSP home page and not to the part tools file location.

Edit : nevermind the video you posted had a downloadable link.

How do I get the maps like the video has in them?
