How to use patched conics?

I\'ve looked around but I can\'t seem to find it, how I get into orbit around Minmus when I\'ve 'encountered' it? I get an orange Kerbin orbit and a line going away, but I\'ve no idea where to burn to get myself orbiting it. I\'m not sure how to use the new system, could anyone explain it to me? Cheers.

Edit: The blue line is bring me away from the planet, so i\'m pretty sure I\'ve done a slingshot by mistake. What exactly does the blue and orange represent though? I\'ve no screenshots, apologies.

It\'s just like establishing a Münar orbit. Once you\'re in Minmus\' SOI, burn retrograde until you have an elliptical orbit. (Ideally at periapsis.)

There are lots of player made tutorials you can try but I\'ll tell you a few things here so you don\'t have to look.

Once in orbit just wait for the Mun to rise over the horizon and fire your engines, you\'ll see your orbit expand in the map screen as you gain speed, and when you get to a point where you will intercept the Mun you\'ll see the patched conics system kick in, it\'s only visible on the map though.
