Help! Captured asteroid prevents station being listed as 'new' in mission

Recommended Posts

So I took on an asteroid capture/station building mission (which is a pretty sweet challenge)

I captured my asteroid, brought it into Minimus orbit, and launched three separate modules (all launched after the contract was accepted) I docked the modules with the asteroid, and all mission requirements EXCEPT build a new station were satisfied.

The most confusing part is that if my station is NOT docked to the asteroid, all requirements except 'build the facility into a Class C' are satisfied. (Including build a new station!) Then, when I dock, that becomes satisfied and the new station becomes unchecked.

Is there a way for me to force completion or otherwise overcome this bug?

So I just went and captured another, completely different, new asteroid, with a newly launched ship, and it ALSO has the 'new station' box unchecked. What gives? Has anyone successfully completed this mission?

Hmm... I did get a bit of fuel from my LKO fuel depot before going out to fetch the asteroid, but that was it.

Picking up fuel will not cause the problem, nor will docking with an existing ship, as long as you are undocked when you are trying to complete the contract. I'm still guessing the asteroid is the culprit in this case.

In the end, when two separate asteroids didn't do the trick, I followed StrandedonEarth's excellent instructions to force completion through the debugging toolbar:

alt+f12, contracts > active > com (by the appropriate contract)
