im going to go against the grain here and say what about a bird-song generator? like when out on kerbin or another planet.. a deployable block.. a speaker that plays the birdsong sound so that a base far from KSC can have that "im home" sound? but yes to hell with that SPH construction song when using KAS. thats a no no

It is strange when it inexplicably cuts off mid warble and all you get is silence until you access another building. Jeb must be out hunting!

Exactly the opposite for me. I literally have a playlist on Youtube of the editor soundtrack that I use while I'm working.

Agreed. I like the background music. It has a distinctly 60's feel to it, which was the height of the space program in the U.S.

There is one music mod that I have tried but couldn't get to work (back in 0.24 I think?). There are a few sound effect mods out there that address specific areas and shortcomings like rover wheels and wind sound and voice, but I have never seen anything that address the bird sounds. Personally, I wish Squad would make the soundtrack easier to change, like just dropping tracks into folders for different situations like Kerbin orbit, Jool orbit, flying, Duna landed, etc. like adding your own flags.

It's weird that it's silent in the atmo, then you get into space and get music.

In atmo you have wind noise. In space you don't, so they gave us space music instead.

All the noise seems to me to be from the point of view of someone inside the spaceship, even though the camera angle is outside the spaceship. Engine noise is realistic for inside the spaceship.
