No parts to select in VAB or SPH (empty parts menu)

Every time I start KSP, load a saved game, enter VAB or SPH, load/build something, press launch, revert to VAB/SPH, when the editor loads there are no parts to select whatsoever. This happens only after the first time I load the editor.First time, the editor loads everything, after that there are no parts (empty parts menu).

when looking at the part menu, try to click on one of the four names in the top left "name, mass, price" those thins

sometimes when i click, the parts show again

I've been having something similar where instead of the parts disappearing, it's just the tabs on the side.

I have this also. Has anyone tried removing their mods? I did and this still happens. I have verified my game cache through steam. Is there a log that might show what is happening?
