It’ll be fully enclosed and have accomodations for two pilots. It’s bare bones still, but when it’s done it should have a full control panel as well.</p><p>We can’t wait to see how the project progresses, and if you’re a hardcore simulation geek then be sure to head over to <a href="http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/122945"><b>Krewmember’s thread</b></a> on the forums and the bigger / more general <a href="http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/66763"><b>Simpit Repository</b></a>.<br/></p>

Wait, He's gonna put a screen in the window and play KSP from in there? :0.0:

Please tell me he's gonna add a small surround sound system in there and use the "IVA Sounds" mod! That would be awesome! (And maybe put it on top of something to shake it around XD )

Whoah. This is really cool! :)

Thank you Starwhip.

No no a screen for each window so the pilot and co pilot can coop on a mission

If I can get a surround sound system, yes. And I'm planning to add bass shakers in the seats

Wait seriously? (I can't tell if that first part was sarcastic or not)

Bass shakers! I'm jealous! That's gonna be the most crazy immersion in KSP anyone has ever experienced!

Can we make this like, and amusement park ride or something?? :D

Yes seriously, make it a amusement park ride? hmm maybe :P

It could be a mobile kind of thing, where you could pack it up and take it with you. It could go to real Space Centers for launch days. Imagine, going to the Kennedy Space Center to see a Rocket launch, and getting to be a Rocket Pilot too!

Does anyone else think this idea is amazing? :D

YES.

All my yes.

Can you put servos/pneumatic pistons to shake it around as well? :D You could look at the current camera shake and parse that to your capsule.

Oooh, I get shivers thinking about it. :D

Cool idea, but sadly a motion base of that size would cost $3000 and up easily.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Like that old ride that Used to be in a mall near me, where it looked like a bit...idk. Like a spaceship. And you got inside and all the doors closed and at the front was a screen. Idk what actually happened, cause I never rode it, but it shook around and rolled and it seemed like it would be awesome. That's what I had in mind.

It would involve so much complicated coding and machinery, but it would be so worth it!!!

I think I could build it for under a thousand... though one may not define the result as "professional". But it would be functional.

When you buy the parts yourself and then put everything together from scratch, it is a lot cheaper.

Lets see... Say you took plywood, steel cable (or some other strong flexible stuff), four motors, and some caster wheels. If you attach one cable to two motors as a pulley system and couple that to your simpit, you've got one axis of motion. Then couple the first pulley system to a second one perpendicular to it, and place the first on a caster wheel base, and presto, two axes.

EDIT: Disclaimer: I may have some experience in programming and mechanical engineering. :D

Attach it to a cenrterfige and a load of hydraulics so that instead of camera shake there is real shake! Squad, Fund this and and use it in a release video.

Another idea! Break into NASA and put KSP on one of their simulatorsl.:D

The look on the face of some poor shmuck when he steps into the simulator, turns it on and it starts blasting KSP's main theme... :D
