KSP Will NOT load

i just installed KSP using steam and it will not load. it just flashes the screen and when it shows a little of the window, it shows NOT RESPONDING. I have played previous versions of KSP modded and unmodded, and they loaded just fine. This is a fresh install and I have NO mods currently installed.

Hmmm, this is interesting...

A fresh install and it just does not run. My first suggestion would be to re-install KSP, but that should not be necessary given that you just installed it, but its worth a shot none-the-less. My best guess is that KSP is missing some important file or there are extra files in the KSP install directory. That happens a lot when there is a major update to the game such as 1.0. So have steam wipe all files in the install directory, then re-install the game and see if it works. If not, see what other details you can glean and post them here

The symptoms you describe sound like the graphics drivers were updated but you have not yet rebooted your PC though.

I've played previous versions and didn't have this issue. It showed up after I installed a mod on the earlier version of KSP. I deleted that version because it was BAD out of date. But the issue remained. Is there anything I need to search for in the registry to remove to fix the issue?

SkeeterKermin we don't know what the issue is without your logs, there is no telling what is causing this, though if it is because an addon damaged your install then completely re-installing the game will replace any damaged or missing files.

A Steam cache verification might fix it, but might not.

I didn't get the previous versions through steam. I downloaded them using the zip file method

The verify catch went through without a hitch, so its a good install.

SkeeterKermin, there's a KSP.log in the game folder, and a output_log.txt in the KSPData folder, you can find these via the Steam client.

hrmmm weird its loading now. i think letting it update may have done it. thanks for your help
