Eve return lander

Has anyone managed to get to eve and return yet with 1.0.2

I have manage to land on eve but have been unable to get back into orbit yet. Did manage this with .90

Yup, been there, done that. What problems are you having?

Cant appear to get it back into orbit - or i cant do the calcs to get into orbit with mechjeb and i keep coming up short and going BOOM

Was looking at mabe 2 craft landing one with science/driller and an aircraft of some form but unsure if you can use 'jet' engines on Eve or are they 'rocket type' only?

Eve atmosphere = no oxygen, jet engines won't work. Gotta be rockets all the way.

(In stock, anyway. Mods can change that-- for example, Karbonite has jet engines that work in any atmosphere.)

Thanks may give it a go with rocketjet with dock/grap and refueling station
