Lagerdine's Gap

I have the contract to do an EVA at Lagerdine's Gap Alpha and Beta. It took a few tries, but I set down near the markers on the globe. Since the map view does not focus to show details, I am not sure exactly where each location is. How do I find the specific sites? Some specific questions:

1. Does anyone have the GPS of Lagerdine's Gap?

2. Is the actual location the bottom of the marker or the circle that gives you information when you roll over it.

3. Are there any identifying in-world markings?

This is my first full day of using KSP and I enjoy it. I just want to complete this contract.

The location is at the point of the marker. It can be tough sometimes.

The names are randomly assigned, so there are no fixed coordinates to aim for.

In map view, click on the marker of the site you want to travel to. Then click on the button called "Activate navigation." This adds a marker on your navball in the direction of the site. I may be hard to see as it is the same color as on the map view marker. Travel towards the marker until a message like "Entering Lagerdine's Gap Alpha" appears on your screen. Pay attention while travelling as the message is only visible for a few seconds. Stop, take the EVA report and you have completed the objective. Do the same with the other site and you have completed the contract. You should still recover or transmit the reports for the science points, but the contracts don't require that.

Easy with a rover or plane. Not so easy with landers. What i do, is try to use the craft's navball to guess which direction i should walk/jetpack in by tilting the craft in the direction of the marker. Then EVA in that direction and hope to enter the area. Some areas are viciously tight though. :(

Having learned how tricky those contracts can be, i try to remember not to try them without plenty of extra fuel for navigation/errors or without a rover. But hey! Finally there's a use for the tiny rovers and rover wheels. :) EVA trackers!

If you go to the Map once you've launched your vessel, you can find the marker on Kerbin, click it, and 'activate navigation'. You'll then see an icon (somewhere in the general direction) on your navball to show you the way. You will also see a little notification saying when you enter said area. Hope that helps.
