Possible contract completion bug in 1.0.2

Recommended Posts

Built a new spacecraft composed of two docked modules to complete a contract titled "Build a new orbital station around Kerbin". There are 7 requirements to complete this contract which include:

1. Put your station in orbit of Kerbin

2. Build a new station that has an antenna, docking port, and can generate power

3. Have a facility supporting at least six Kerbals

4. Have a research lab at the station

5. Have a viewing cupola at the station

6. Have 2000 units of ore in your station

7. Maintain stability for 10 seconds

All requirements have been fulfilled except for the second one, and I think it has something to do with the antenna, which is on the rear docked module of the ship on the right.

The antenna was the only component listed in the second requirement that wasn't included in the first module. It was new, it had a docking port, and it could generate power, but no antenna. I'm wondering if the second requirement isn't being fulfilled because the antenna wasn't included in the original module. But wait, other requirements such as having a research lab, and a facility supporting at least six Kerbals also weren't included in the original module, yet they are in fact fulfilled in the contract list. There seems to be some sort of a contradiction going on here. Yes, it's a little confusing to say the least, which is why I think it could be some sort of a bug. I can't think of any other explanation for why the second requirement wouldn't be fulfilled.

I would greatly appreciate any insight, feedback, or suggestions from the KSP community on this issue. Is this likely a bug? Any suggestions for a workaround? The only solution I can think of is to relaunch the first module with an antenna on it... which would be dumb and frustrating. That's an expensive launch to essentially put an antenna into orbit...

Is that an antenna on the lab? Try undocking and redocking it, then a quicksave and quickload, that may trigger the contract as complete.

If not then please post the KSP.log and output_log

If you just want the contract ended, you can do so in the Alt+F12 debug menu.

Yes, there are two antennas, one above and below near the docking port. I tried your redocking/quickload suggestion but the contract still wouldn't complete.

Do you want me to just paste the logs in here? They're increadibly long. Or is there a method to upload the text files? Sorry, this is my first time on the forums.

Thanks for the debug menu tip, I had no idea you could do that. Should be really helpful if I encounter similar problems in the future.

The logs are overwritten every time the game starts so they may not show anything now, it's best to start KSP, reproduce an issue, close KSP and post the log contents to ]hastebin, that way there's as little unneeded stuff as possible.

The guy to ask about this would be Arsonide, he made the contracts so would be able to figure out what happened, you could drop him a PM :)
