Game bugging out after I return from EVA doing science.

Recommended Posts

I keep running into this strange bug where after I get back into the ship after I do and collect science, the game glitches out. Maybe this imgur album will explain better than I could in frustrated words because this is frustrating me to no end.

I've also had instances where I simply can't right click on anything when it bugs out, while everything else works.

Modlist:

Before anybody says narrow it down, I've TRIED, MULTIPLE TIMES. While the error does appear in stock, attempts to narrow it down have led to maybe module manager, DMagic Orbital Science (I suspect that this is actually a major culprit), several dead ends when I attempt to binary search since the error seems to reproduce sometimes and then suddenly not reproduce, even when I try to replicate conditions in a branchoff with few mods. In short, I have tried to narrow it down, but it goes in a different direction every time I try.

Sometimes it reproduces and sometimes it doesn't, I've even tried near-stock craft, but the only times it seems to 100% reproduce is in the exact game environment that I'm experiencing it in.

Output log: http://sta.sh/01ycb80ehvdn

Edit: Sometimes it triggers on EVA where I can't right click things and often it seems to happen after I toggle back from map view. To fix it, I have to go back to KSC and then return to the craft.

*bump*

Hello? Anybody?

100 views and nobody? I keep having this problem every time I go on EVA and do science, most every time, and it's annoying as heck.

I already did, DMagic hasn't said anything about it.

*KAPOWS IT TO THE FRONT*

Should I assume that I'm the only one seeing this?

It's still happening as of 1.0.4, can ANYBODY even help or what? This is seriously frustrating!

  • 4 weeks later...

Merged posts, sometimes people just don't know, like in this instance.

All I can really suggest is that you try another save, see if this issue is save specific, and keep your alt+f2 debug log open, watching for any errors as they occur.

I'm trying to reproduce it again in a near stock branchoff. Also, I've had it over various saves, so it's not save specific.

Also, is there a way to resize the alt+F12 debug window? It's pretty darn big for me.

Edit: Though I'm trying to get things set up first....

As for errors (I'm using exceptiondetector along with alt+F12):

I'm using a near stock branchoff with just KJR, KER, GCmonitor, exception detector, stockbugfixmodules, and MM.

Triggered when I go back inside command pod after gathering science.

Again later on

Does anybody know anything about these exceptions?

And again

However, I can't seem to reproduce the problem, going to try it with MechJeb on.

Attept with MechJeb on:

Attempt 1:

Oof, got hit by the Hell Kraken, somehow, and crashed.

Attempt2:

Again

I can't get it to reproduce tonight, despite the errors coming up a whole bunch.

Now attempting with DMagics orbital science (latest version):

1st attempt:

Kerbal portraits freeze after returning from eva, no error or exception generated, other wierd stuff happen as well. Attempting to land results in ship phasing through ground and exploding.

screenshot11_zps8feexk4e.png

screenshot12_zpsocdpmm8y.png

Output log: http://sta.sh/01a5wy9iimy3

Attempt 2 (now with just exception detector, DMagic orbital science, KJR, KER, stockbugfixmodules+stockplus config, and MM):

Hell kraken again dammit. Something with the MK3 tank I'm using??

Attempt 3 (same as attempt 2 really):

On (or by) third landing, the portraits freeze, I can't right click on anything, and attempting to EVA spawns an extra kerbal.

Those are ALL Raysey Kerman

screenshot14_zpsx0c26lhu.png

Uh, whoops, I appear to have cloned him at least 14 times (was spamming EVA for the lulz).

Going to delete that branchoff since I ran a cache check on KSP (using steam) and make a new save just to be sure. Plus that one is probably screwed up now.

New attempt with just Exception Detector, KER, and DMagic orbital science:

Attempt 1:

First time I've seen some other line of text be right above the exception without a space.

Platform assembly: C:\Bugtesting Kerbal Space Program\KSP_Data\Managed\Mono.Security.dll (this message is harmless)
InvalidOperationException: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.

at System.Collections.Generic.List`1+Enumerator[UnityEngine.Collider].MoveNext () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

at Part.OnDestroy () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
