Is there a way to disable airbrakes?

Recommended Posts

I often use them for aesthetic purposes, and I can't find a way to disable them whenever I brake - Despite attempting to remove it from the action groups and disabling Pitch/Yaw - It always engages.

Does anyone have an idea how? None of those two seem to stop it from engaging.

I think Claws stock bugfixes mod has a way to fix this. Its a sticky at the top of the Add-on releases forum. The mod is built in a way that you can enable only that fix, and turn off the other fixes if you desire.

If it's purely aesthetic, there may be a way to duplicate the part. I believe that to remove the braking function, remove the ModuleAeroSurface section. If it doesn't work, try the FXModuleLookAtConstraint instead. If that doesn't work, try both. If that still doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

Currently, there is no way in stock to work around this. For some reason, the action groups were built different for AeroSurfaces, and there's a bug in the implementation.

If you never use the airbrakes as airbrakes, then you can edit the .cfg and remove the reference to ModuleAeroSurface. They will no longer work as airbrakes.

Yes, if you are not opposed to add-ons, you can change the action group for airbrakes with my fixes. As a minimum, you'll need the StockPlusController.dll and the ModuleAeroSurfaceFix. (You don't have to use the StockPlus features, just have the controller present.) After installing, you can just delete the directories of the fixes you don't want.

Cheers,

What would create such a requirement? The only disadvantage is the action group takes a toggle, while 'B' lasts as long as it's pressed. Plus the extra work - but if you want non-default behavior extra work is to be expected.
