Laythe is Kerbin's flooded twin!

Hi I'm new to the forum and i discovered something very odd when looking at Laythe and Kerbin

craters look like that after erosion.

but yeah, well spotted, that seems to be a huge impact crater on Laythe.

No correspondance between emerged lands on Laythe and Kerbin's mountain ranges, so I'd say "Busted".

Craters are somewhat similar... Eve have a crater that looks similar too... but no... the surface have nothing more similar to say Laythe is Kerbin flooded...

(The atmosphere is probably also breathtaking, but since kerbals wear spacesuits at all times when outside anyway, it shouldn't be a problem.)

You have realize that the guy who said that "Laythe is Kerbin's ugly, poisonous, volcanic, and radioactive younger sister" is NovaSilisko, the dev that originally created Laythe, so that's what he had in mind when he created Laythe. So that said, Laythe is very volcanic and radioactive (it has to be if it wants to have liquid seas that far out from Kerbol), and also likely very poisonous to Kerbals.

I can see poisonous (Hypercapnia due to a very high % CO2 atmosphere perhaps?).

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder

Radioactive? Why? There is a difference between being radioactive, and simply being in a high radiation environment.

Do you actually mean that it is supposed to be radioactive? or just that its supposed to orbit within Jool's radiation belts?

It doesn't make much sense for it to be radioactive... unless its got a lot of Uranium, and its running natural nuclear reactors?

And that is why its got liquid (water?), instead of just a subsurface ocean, and a very cold and thick layer of ice at the surface (like Europa)

Sad thing about Laythe is it's tidally locked. And the face turned against Jool is mostly water. Most of the lands ar on the other side. So there are very few islands where you can really see Jool. I would have liked Laythe with Jool-rises and Jool-sets.

Hopefully there are few nice spots
