Quick-Launch, option to disable menu animations.

Recommended Posts

Squad, the menu animations look great, but they're really frustrating seeing them every launch. There's no way to move through the menus faster, and all I want to do is get back to what I was doing when I left.

This is a two-part request:

1. An option in the settings menu to disable menu animations.

2. A "Resume Last" option. This would immediately place me at the KSC screen for the last persistent save that I had been playing.

What menu animations are you even talking about ? If you are talking about the main starting menu.... You only need to watch them once, and they are half a second long each. there are literally 3 buttons to click to "resume last" : start game->saved->save.

Is it *that* annoying for you ?

i'd rather want squad not to lose time to implement that kind of useless feature that would only have an effect on the start menu. Just wait an extra .1 second before launching....

They're annoying because I can't skip them. If there was a quick resume option, I wouldn't be so bothered by them.

I don't see it being that complicated, but it's tedious. A Resume Last button would solve this nuisance.

It's not a huge amount of time, but combined with the instability of the game, I have to navigate it quite frequently. It's tedious.

I'm pretty sure I've already seen something similar in mod code (no idea which mod that was). It would automatically load a save and start for example in the KSC scene. It was meant as a debugging feature because debugging a mod involves starting the game lots of times for small tests.

I think it's Magic Smoke Industries DevHelper, if you look for a simpler way to do it you can try my QuickStart but it doesn't block the first animation ;) it goes to KSC of your last game after the end of the loading.

Are either of those 0.9 compatible?
DevHelper hasn't been updated since KSP 0.24. I don't think that all the features work (go to the VAB seems to doesn't work). I've developed QuickStart on KSP 1.0.X and no version on Github/KerbalStuff can work on KSP 0.90. If needs I made a tiny fix so it can work on KSP 0.90 ;) (source code and license GPLv3 are embedded)
