Brakes on rover wheels not working

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that's a bug. You need the stock bugfix mod to correct it. The issue is that the tweak menu has a max value that is one tenth of what it's supposed to be.

If it is 1/10 of what it is supposed to be. couldn't i go in to the game files and make it 3000 to get 30 brake force like its supposed to be?

I don't know how to do that myself, but yeah. The thing is, if you right click on it for any reason it will go back to 30. Also, it's supposed to be 300. 3000 might cause your craft to explode upon tapping the brakes.

Well if its 3000 and divide 3000 by 10 you get 300 which is what its supposed to be right?

I installed the stock bugfix back when I tried rover and the rover still couldn't get up inclines and took ages to brake, used the brown wheels on Mun. Even my minmus mining station needed ages to come to a stop when I drove it 10 km to my out of fuel hopper.

I have pretty much given up on anything with wheels. Hopefully they rework wheel physics completely.

Hmm, when you right click on the wheel in the VAB, do you see 300? In 1.0.2 you would see 30. I don't think they fixed that in the latest version though, they didn't mention it in the change log.

Light gravity worlds have traction issues, but in 1.0.2 brakes really were not working in any case.
