progression from 4x physics straight to regular warp

In the final ascent you're often coasting out of the last part of the atmo so you use physics warp until you hit space, then you have to drop out of physics warp before going into regular warp. It would be nice if once you're in space and at 4x physics warp, hitting . would take you straight into 5x regular warp. (but hitting , from regular 5x warp still drops you right out of warp as it does now).

In principal a nice suggestion. I'm with Kaos on this one.

Good idea (it would have been jolly handy for me last night), but overall it may be a bit if a frustration in practice.

yeah I see you guys point. What if instead of a single tap of . to go from 4x physics to regular warp it required a double tap?

Perhaps alt-. would do the trick? With something like that I would support it.

Either alt or double tap sounds reasonable.

Alt's already used to change modes, but double taps may occur naturally, as people button mash.

But thinking about it, are there really that many situations where directly going from phys warp to regular would be possible, that could cause a problem?

When moving along the ground, or in atmosphere, going into regular warp is already prevented.

I'm sure there'd be some situation where it could cause problems, but most of the time the automatic thing would stop you.
