If you ever see a virus thingy pop up and say THERE IS VIRUSES FOUND! REPAIR NOW!

i suggest to close it and ignore it. on the ones that happened to me, one of them popped up all the time saying there was viruses and youd have to buy it to clean it -_-

the next one is security sheild it will not allow you to open ANY programs, unless you get the full version.

this IS fake. thankfully, there are vids and codes for you to remove it from your PC. (phew)

So, i suggest you do not trust ANY virus programs on the internet. only trust it if ou buy it from the store.

NO, im NOT trolling, spamming or anything. im warning you about the bad virus programs.

thanks

by the way notron does that too

No offense, but Norton is terrible.

Get Macafee to stop you from going to probably infected sites, Malware Bytes to do your weekly scan and Avast for everything else.

Charzy, by mixing antivirus software, you\'re doing yourself more harm then good, as they can conflict with each other and give false negatives. You\'re better off with just one antivirus program (ie drop MacAfee and keep Avast).

Essentials and Avira are free. One is made by Microsoft, the other is made by, well, Avira. They work well together. If one fails to find something, the other has always succeeded. Unfortunately, however, neither managed to stop the most malicious viruses I\'ve had.

I haven\'t had an issue yet [*knocks on wood*], and I run Avast! with Malwarebytes, coupled with common sense.

I use all of those. I remember downloading a game. Five seconds later the game also installed a fake anti virus. It disabled all internet access and all programs. Oh, and it didn\'t allow me to uninstall it. So I went into safe mode and used Malwarebytes. So be careful to also scan the sites you download games from before downloading the games. (This was not KSP. It was a month or two before I even found out about this game.)

McAfree and Norton are equally, terrifyingly horrible.

Kapersky > Malwarebytes > Avira > MSE > AVG >>>>>>>>> McAfree > Norton >>> Internet Explorer

\'

McAfee is below internet explorer. I remeber when I had it. It didn\'t protect from worms it just infected more files. The only reason I used it because I got it free when I got my PC.

I thought this was the most obvious thing in the world until my ex told me to fix her computer.

The virus was pretending to do a cleanup/antivirus stuff. When I said that was the virus she freaked and said I was wrong, and that it was the good thing trying to save her computer.

Sigh.

That\'s what they prey on. 'I\'m really helpful. Look I\'ve identified all these problems. If you buy I\'ll get rid of them and make sure there aren\'t anymore.'

So um... While we\'re discussing this; has anyone heard of Eset and Intego? :D

I\'ve heard of intego. I helped my old school install it to all there computers... That took like a week. (We have a huge computer lab and teachers had macbooks.) Intego was very paranoid.

Yep. But it is great if you\'re more paranoid than it. :-[

It thought the apple site had malaware. Right when I saw that I face palmed. They ended up making me switch them to some other anti virus...

Oh? Really?!

The biggest thing I\'ve had is detecting a virus, 'TrojanTactic.ai'. Took me a while to realise it was from the DoW steel legion mod. :D
