Google is having problems today, since 7:06am EST (according to downdetector.com). I'm also seeing critical latency between Cogent and Savvis (high packet loss and >180ms latency), plus a lot of traffic and attacking on both the east and west coasts as well as in Europe. Anyone else having troubles pulling up Google or logging in?... Chrome issues?

I have high latency no matter what. On vacation with a 2003 laptop.

And say what? Google is under a DDOS attack?

Perhaps somebody decided to DDOS them after Google Photos identified black people as gorillas.

I wondered about that too. Seems very foolish though, accomplishes nothing... so many other ways to voice the displeasure and offended feelings (like simply opening ones mouth and discussing it, or writing letters/emails/blogs). Brings a lot to question about (alleged) AI and statistical learning models, doesn't it. (I mention that because of a recent topic about such here on the forums)

I wonder what would happen if someone chain-mailed a Google Docs spreadsheet that fetched data on various Google servers, Google probably doesn't limit traffic to itself.
