How to install KSP 64 bit in linux?

I'm trying to get KSP running on linux (Ubuntu to be exact), but I'm not really sure which file I have to execute.

I want to get the 64bit version obviously, but I noticed there wasn't any download link specifying the 64bit client on KSP official download page. Regardless I've downloaded the Linux version and unzipped it.

Now what do I do?

I assume I launch the client through KSP.x86_64?

Yep, the linux zip comes with both executables.

If you are new to playing KSP on Linux, you might also want to have a look at the Linux Thread before you launch KSP for the first time. Especially, neglecting the localization issues of the Unity engine will likely lead to a messed up configuration file if your locale is using another character than the period as decimal separator.

cool, so how do I find out if my language replaces the decimal separator or not? And by language setting, does that mean the OS's language or the set keyboard language?

If you didn't change the settings during installation, the OS will auto-detect your location. But, just to make sure go into your system setting and look for 'Language Support' (Generally the second item, top row). The select the 'Regional Format' tab; the first selector should read 'English (United States)' (I'm assuming you're American). If not, switch it; then, click 'Apply System-Wide'.
