So, Captain Sierra, what did you think of the ending to that fist fight i had with Xannari Ferrows in part 1? Just wondering...

Took me off guard. I honestly wasnt expecting it to end like that. Still confuses me a bit but I'm curious to see if that holds any lasting effects on you two (well, you specifically). I, regrettably, have not played Fallout and have never actually seen anyone in any universe survive that. Usually in my RPs it works the other way where things you'd usually expect to be survivable turn out to not be or almost not be. Since that did happen, what are we dealing with in-universe in terms of medical tech? Obviously its of a lower standard than what's in my lorebook. If you'd been in my universe you'd have been fine provided a medic got to you in 3 minutes (the 180 second rule, impartial, uncaring, yet undeniably cruel). Given that wasnt an option it did surprise me, but honestly though I should be used to taking people off guard.

During the last session before our Christmas break in the RP my character's originally from, two of the other guys conspired to set up a nice happy ending between Kris and one of her squad's medics, Darek Scott (the two sort of had a thing for each other). Unfortunately I had other plans. That was the session that, after a year of taking stray bullets and getting picked back up by Scott, she doesnt make it. I had those two guys literally shedding tears over it.

SHe actually isn't one to shoot first, ask questions later, but he context of the RP she came from definitely forced the shooting first scenario a lot (tends to happen when you're a soldier in a resistance force).

I have the transcripts from that RP chat room if you want me to dig those out and show you.

I'm very much concerned out of character! I've seen setups like this before and there's definitely a pattern.

I've seen setups like this before and if I'm reading this all correctly, you've basically put an atom bomb over our castle of glass. I have never seen that setup and the bomb not go off. It will go off. The only question is how long can we buy ourselves a stay of execution. Then the question shifts to can we hold off the now-impending armageddon.

Judging by your second comment it sounds as though at least some of this is in line with your intentions so yes you're doing it right. Exactly how this goes is determined by a) how long we can hold off setting off the bomb, and B) exactly what you choose to do when we inevitably screw ourselves.

We could do this on the Minecraft Forums! There's a special subforum for roleplays and theres a rule that people can't disrupt them!

You know how many trolls that forum probably has? I dont care what the rules say, trolls don't respect rules. On the basis of not getting trolled at least once a page, I have to object.

The round skimmed off the shoulder of her chitin armor (crafted from the carapace of a giant Rochlea beetle; resistant to almost anything). She whipped around, drawing her handgun and before the assailant could blink, let loose two rounds of her own. He was dead before he hit the floor. "Throw this trash out the airlock with the rest of it," she ordered, and returned to her post.

Yeah, I think I could tolerate that solution.

Your account needs to get 'approved'. Will take less than 24 hours. Once you're ready to go we might have to leave Xannarri behind for a day or 10 (cuz it looks like we're all rarin' to go).

EDIT: I threw up my necessary alterations so I'm game when yall are.

Also, is this going to be written as action-reaction (First poster: X shoots bullet at Y. Next poster: Y dodges bullet) or just action+aftermath (First poster: X shoots bullet at Y and kills them)? Action-reaction would be more fun IMO. :)

Yeah, I kind of half to agree..I was kind of considering just flat out ending the current part in a summary, given Laythe's reluctance to get an account on the other forum. and then we can get the new characters into the game as quickly as possible. I think this is the best possible way to do this! And, Captain Sierra, if you thought the end of that fist fight with Xannari was shocking, wait until you see what I was considering for part 3! This one might have a rather depressing ending.

Probably. :P I've always seen the rule for action-reaction and obeyed it (doesnt make for good counterplay and is generally a dk move to instantly kill someone elses character. I can see it being allowed in extenuating circumstances (i.e. there is zero chance for a reaction to change the outcome) but generally not fun.
